Description project

The bridge crosses the Tien River, connecting the two provinces of Vinh Long and Tien Giang. My Thuan 1 is the largest cable-stayed bridge in Vietnam. The bridge started construction on July 6, 1997, and was inaugurated on May 21, 2000. The bridge is located 125km southwest of Ho Chi Minh City, on National Highway 1, which is the main traffic axis of the Mekong Delta.

After many years of exploitation, the construction shows signs of damage: the rails' modular expansion joints are rusted, the waterproof rubber troughs are degraded, many girder-supporting elastic bearings have turned flat, cracked, no longer resilient, and many bearings are displaced, etc.

On June 23, 2021, the Directorate for Roads of Vietnam issued a decision to invite Bidding package No. 3: Construction under the project: Repairing expansion joints of abutment A(P) and at piers T11 and T14 of My Thuan bridge, National Route 1, Tien Giang, Vinh Long. Vinh Hung JSC has won the bid to supply and construct the main product - Modular Expansion Joint with a value of VND 19,752,769,000. The project is in the construction process and expects to be operated and exploited on December 31, 2021.
