Tool anchorages are types of anchorages used for prestressing and used many times. After each tension, the prestressed cable is held tightly in concrete by the working anchorage, while the tool anchorage is removed for reuse many times. In addition to the requirement of being able to withstand tensile loads, this anchors must also ensure ease of installation and dismantling during tensioning.
Tool anchorage is include: anchor head, wedges and limiting plate. This type of anchorage is installed inside the jacks and prestressed strand cables are locked inside the anchorage. When hydraulic power is applied to the jack, the tool anchorages stretch the strand cables until reached the required force.
