The Northern mountainous region of Vietnam is frequently affected by natural disasters, particularly landslides and rockfalls of increasing severity, causing significant damage to both lives and property. Therefore, slope reinforcement and rockfall prevention measures have become essential to ensure the safety of local residents and road users in the region.

The Northern Mountainous Provinces Transport Connectivity Project, managed by the Ministry of Transport, has a total length of approximately 200 km crossing Lao Cai, Lai Chau, and Yen Bai provinces, with a total investment of VND 6.018 trillion and an implementation period from 2019 to 2024. The project consists of two routes: the connection from Lai Chau to the Hanoi – Lao Cai Expressway (147 km), and the connection from Nghia Lo (Yen Bai) to the Hanoi – Lao Cai Expressway (53 km). Vinh Hung’s contract package belongs to the Lai Chau connection route.

In 2023, Vinh Hung completed the construction of reinforced soil retaining walls with anchored gabion facing panels. In 2024, the company completed positive slope reinforcement and rockfall protection works using high-strength steel mesh systems combined with shear connectors along the Lai Chau connection route.
