The project to build the road connecting Tran Quoc Hoan Street and Cong Hoa Street in Ho Chi Minh City began in December 2022 with a total investment of 4,848 billion VND, invested by the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board).
This route plays a critical role in connecting Tan Son Nhat Airport’s Terminal T3 with surrounding areas and alleviating traffic congestion on major roads such as Truong Chinh and Cong Hoa.
The Tran Quoc Hoan – Phan Thuc Duyen intersection underpass, with an estimated budget of about 200 billion VND, is a key component of the Tran Quoc Hoan – Cong Hoa road project. As part of this effort, Vinh Hung was selected to execute the entire tunnel waterproofing scope of work, which commenced in September 2023.
Waterproofing in the Tran Quoc Hoan Tunnel is vital for structural protection against groundwater intrusion. It also enhances the tunnel’s durability and aesthetic appearance, ensuring long-term performance.
With extensive capacity and experience in urban tunnel waterproofing across Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Hung executed the waterproofing work on schedule, completing it in July 2024. The site was then handed over to the main contractor to proceed with subsequent work, including tunnel connection, lighting, railings, and asphalt pavement.
On August 10, 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with central and local government leaders, attended the opening ceremony of the Tran Quoc Hoan – Phan Thuc Duyen underpass.
