Description project
Co Chien Bridge is designed as a prestressed concrete cantilever bridge over the Co Chien River connecting Mo Cay Nam District of Ben Tre Province with Tra Vinh District of Tra Vinh Province on National Highway 60 route.
Co Chien Bridge is 3.6 km away from Co Chien Ferry towards downstream. By 2011, Co Chien Bridge is one of four priority projects to be implemented in the development of transport infrastructure in the Mekong Delta. It is also one of the four important bridges on National Highway 60, the other bridges are Rach Mieu Bridge, Ham Luong Bridge and Dai Ngai Bridge. The estimated cost of this construction project is VND 3,798.440 billion, of which VND 1,210 billion component 1 project (main bridge construction) was implemented in BOT form. Component 2 project has an investment capital of 1,588.261 from the state budget.
The opening of Co Chien bridge helps shorten 70 km distance from Tra Vinh to Ho Chi Minh City.
