The accident immediately disconnected all the trains from Gai Gon to Ho Chi Minh and vice versa. Thousands of train passengers had to stop at Bien Hoa station to be taken by bus for their left journeys. Every day, Saigon Railway Station must arrange more than 100 turns of 45-seat buses to pick up passengers to Bien Hoa station to catch the train and vice versa. The cost of the Railway industry was multiplied by hundreds of million dong per day subsequently. 

For the important role of this artery bridge, the Prime Minister issued an urgent order to construct a new Ghenh Bridge, the MOT issued an urgent instruction to repair Ghenh Bridge in the shortest time. On March 23, the Railway Project Management Board of Region 3 started construction, the main contractor is Construction Company 3.

The new Ghenh Bridge was built as an emergency situation approved by the Prime Minister with a budget of nearly VND 300 billion from the 2016 reserved budget.
