Pioneering in localizing mechanical products for transportation sector

Participating in the field of trading - manufacturing - constructing technology products and solutions for traffic, civil and industrial construction since 2006, after 15 years of establishment and development, Vinh Hung Trading Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company (Vinh Hung JSC) has become a leading brand and a reliable partner of investors in both domestic and international infrastructure projects.

Among the three key areas of Vinh Hung JSC, trading is the earliest field with products such as bridge bearings, prestressed cables, anchors, etc., which are imported from technologically advanced countries such as Japan, Korea, Switzerland, etc. In 2016, Vinh Hung JSC made a breakthrough when establishing Vinh Hung Investment and Production Co., Ltd (Vinh Hung IP) to manufacture products: bridge bearings, expansion joints, handrails, noise-proof barriers and other steel structures used in traffic construction works.

Pioneering in localizing products has helped Vinh Hung JSC master technology and production processes right in Vietnam, thereby shortening the delivery time, reducing transportation costs, eliminating import taxes and bringing long-term benefits to customers as well as sustainable development for the transport infrastructure system. 

Up to now, Vinh Hung IP is the only Vietnam’s factory that is capable of producing pot bearings with a load capacity of up to 30,000 KN and expansion joints with displacement modules up to 320mm. This is one of the differences of Vinh Hung compared to other businesses operating in this field.

Specifically, in domestic transport infrastructure projects, products manufactured by Vinh Hung JSC have been selected by investors to be used in a series of national key projects: Highway 1 upgrade and expansion project, Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway, Bac Giang - Lang Son Expressway, Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway, Cao Bo - Mai Son Expressway, Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway, Bach Dang Bridge, Ha Long - Van Don Expressway, etc. Vinh Hung JSC has produced and supplied products for 14 expressway projects. The most recent project is the North - South expressway component project at My Thuan 2 bridge section, Vinh Hung has manufactured and supplied the entire pot bearings for the project with a quantity of about 1,000 pcs.

Increasing the application of technology and international standards to the system

In 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on all aspects of social life. However, in the field of investment for infrastructure construction, the Ministry of Transport made efforts to overcome difficulties and promptly started construction of 18 new projects with a total investment of more than 92,000 billion VND. Typically, component projects of the Eastern North-South expressway projects, Long Thanh international airport project, renovation projects of the North-South railway, etc. have created economic stimulus for many provinces in Vietnam and improved the capacity of contractors and enterprises working in the field of manufacturing products and solutions for domestic traffic.

Discussing with Transportation Magazine, Mr. Tran Duc Tien - Chairman of Vinh Hung JSC said that during the Covid-19 outbreak, Vinh Hung had controlled the diseases well, still developed and stabilized manufacturing to meet requirements for both domestic and international projects. The most evident proof is that Vinh Hung JSC's revenue in 2021 increased by 50% compared to 2020. 

Sharing about the solution, Mr. Tien said, firstly, businesses should increase technology application and digital transformation. Since the Covid-19 epidemic had not occurred, Vinh Hung had applied several simple digital tools such as centralizing data on the basis of Google Cloud Platform, automating the entire administration process and had gained many benefits.

“During the spread of Covid-19 epidemic, businesses were only allowed to operate with half of the employees, but Vinh Hung's work was still well-controlled. The processing speed was not affected because the process has already been readily programmed," said Mr. Tien. He also emphasized that it was the connection, availability and interoperability of the information system throughout the enterprise, from the office to the factory that laid the foundation for digital transformation in the 4.0 era.

In addition to technology application and digital transformation, in recent years, Vinh Hung JSC has also promoted the application of international standards to the management system. According to Mr. Tien, the application of international standards is one of the best ways to demonstrate product quality, ability to meet project requirements as well as create consistency in a common language when dealing with customers.

Every stage of the production process ensures traceability, control and prevention of errors.
