DEPUTY MINISTER NGUYEN NGOC DONG WORKS WITH PEOPLE'S COMMITTEE OF QUANG NAM PROVINCE ON SITE CLEARANCE FOR DA NANG - QUANG NGAI EXPRESSWAY CONSTRUCTION

Recently, the delegation of the Ministry of Transport led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Dong had a meeting with the People's Committee of Quang Nam province on site clearance work for the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway contruction.

Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway Project has a total length of 139.52km, of which 91,235km passes through Quang Nam in the area of ​​7 districts and cities including Dien Ban, Duy Xuyen, Que Son, Thang Binh and Phu Ninh, Tam Ky and Nui Thanh. The total investment after adjustment is VND 27,968 billion, invested by Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC). In which, the cost for site clearance (including compensation and resettlement) is VND 1,831 billion; Quang Nam alone accounts for VND 1,047.338 billion. The amount of land to be recovered is about 691.1154 ha; there are 6,749 affected households with 887 households having to be resettled. From the huge amount of work that the Central Government assigned to the province as above, all levels, sectors and localities affected by the Project in the past time, with many solutions, have made great efforts to implement 43,772km/91,235km (reaching 48%). Up to now, Quang Nam has disbursed VND 474,615 billion out of the total VND 492 billion arranged by the Ministry of Transport. The remaining capital will be disbursed before March 15 of this year when districts and cities are submitting plans for approval to pay.

Reporting to the delegation of the Ministry of Transport, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam People's Committee Dinh Van Thu said that determining land clearance work to build this national key project is the responsibility of the whole political system, so Quang Nam held many meetings to solve problems, even on the construction site; promulgating relevant documents and directives in order to highly concentrate on task performance. In addition to the province's flexibility to advance the site clearance funds in some necessary cases, Mr. Dinh Van Thu suggested the Ministry of Transport and the investor to have practical solutions to the problem of supplementing the site clearance funding and existing problems currently.

On behalf of the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Dong highly appreciated and thanked the efforts of the Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments and mass organizations in Quang Nam in the flexible implementation and well achieved results in site clearance work for the Project. The Deputy Minister requested VEC and Project Management Boards to work with contractors to make general plans, select the order of priority for construction of bidding packages; coordinate with the locality to conduct more surveys of other public service roads before March 15; regularly grasp the total funding to proactively arrange reasonable land clearance capital.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Dong asked the consortium of package 3A contractors including Transport Construction Corporation 4 and Thang Long Construction Corporation to soon solve outstanding problems. At the same time, VEC and related parties are required to prepare urgently to put the package No. 2 into construction, then there will be another service road for the construction of this package and the package 3A itself...
