An Phu Interchange in An Phu Ward, Thu Duc City is a major transportation project comprising three levels, including underpasses, flyovers, and connecting roads to key transport corridors, with a total investment of more than VND 3.4 trillion. Located at the starting point of the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway and the intersection of Luong Dinh Cua Street and Mai Chi Tho Boulevard, the project is expected to alleviate congestion in the area and improve access to Cat Lai Port via Dong Van Cong Street. Upon completion, the interchange will strengthen connectivity between the expressway, Mai Chi Tho Boulevard, and other principal urban routes while addressing one of the most critical traffic bottlenecks at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City, particularly in anticipation of the operation of Long Thanh International Airport.

The project is developed by the Ho Chi Minh City Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority. Vinh Hung serves as the contractor responsible for the complete waterproofing package for HC1-01 Underpass, with construction commencing in November 2023.

Waterproofing is a critical component of the structure, protecting the base slab, walls, and roof slab from water ingress and thereby enhancing durability, service life, and structural appearance. The waterproofing system utilizes a 1.7 mm TPO membrane fully enveloping the tunnel base slab, walls, and roof slab. Additional protection measures include waterstops, hydrophilic rubber strips, joint sealants, and reinforcement sheets installed at critical locations such as expansion joints and construction joints, creating a fully watertight system that prevents groundwater infiltration.
