Completed Supply of Seismic Restrainers for Key Railway Project in the Philippines
The South Commuter Railway project is expected to serve more than 600,000 passengers daily.
The SCRP is a key component of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) project, a major railway initiative scheduled for completion by 2028. Spanning approximately 55 kilometers with 18 stations - both elevated and at ground level - the line is designed to handle hundreds of thousands of passengers per day. Once operational, it will reduce travel time from Manila to Calamba from 2.5 hours to just 1 hour, significantly boosting urban mobility.
The project is funded by a USD 4.3 billion loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and co-financed by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the procurement of rolling stock and rail systems. By 2040, the railway is expected to serve over 600,000 passengers per day and cut CO₂ emissions by up to 284,000 tons annually, positioning it as the backbone of public transportation - fast, safe, and environmentally friendly.
In this project, Hyundai Engineering, a leading construction corporation from South Korea, serves as the main contractor. Vinh Hung is proud to be the supplier of seismic restrainers for packages 04, 05, and 06.
Winning the bid and successfully delivering materials for a large-scale project like the SCRP not only affirms Vinh Hung’s reputation in the international market but also highlights the competitiveness and advancement of the Vietnamese transport mechanical industry, proving its ability to meet stringent technical and quality standards in global transportation projects.
