However, in the context that the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Sweden has shifted from development cooperation to a mutually beneficial partnership, the transport sector cooperation between the two nations is still modest, not commensurate with the potentials and strengths of the two countries. "I hope the visit and working of the Swedish Minister and Swedish enterprises with the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam today will be a premise for the development of cooperation fields between the transport sector of the two countries to continue in-depth and more efficiently”, the Deputy Minister expressed.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Cong expected the two countries to increase exchanging and sharing information, seeking investment opportunities for more comprehensive and specific cooperation in the transport field.

At the meeting, Ms. Ann Linde, on behalf of the delegation, thanked Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Cong for spending time to receive the delegation. According to her, Vietnam is a developing country, especially in the field of transportation, so Swedish enterprises are very interested in projects in the transport industry of Vietnam.

"Sweden is one of the fastest creative and innovative countries in the world, especially in the field of information technology and traffic products that are trusted by the whole world," said Ann Linde. Following her introduction, a number of Swedish businesses introduced products and solutions for public transport with the desire to have opportunities to cooperate with the transport industry of Vietnam and Vietnamese businesses.

According to Swedish Minister, the Swedish enterprises are very interested in the project of the Vietnam Transportation sector

Ms. Ann Linde shared, Swedish products are of high quality so the price is not cheap. However, she hoped Vietnam would consider the life cycle of the product relative to the cost when considering investing in equipment for the transport industry. She desired that Swedish transport products will have the opportunity to penetrate and be used in Vietnam in the near future.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Cong also said that Vietnam is currently focusing on three issues: infrastructure development, administrative procedure reform, and human resource training. He hopes that in the coming time, the two countries will further strengthen cooperation in transportation, especially maritime (investment, seaport operation, shipbuilding, training...), aviation (continue to actively exchange and complete procedures to unify the signing of an agreement on air transport activities between the two countries).

The Deputy Minister expected the two nations to increase exchange and share information, and seek investment opportunities towards a more comprehensive and specific perspective of cooperation in the transport field. He also said that Swedish businesses need to actively promote products and services in the transport sector in the Vietnamese market. As for the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport, the Deputy Minister affirmed: "The Ministry of Transport will create all favorable conditions for Swedish businesses to invest and participate in transport projects of Vietnam".

The two sides agreed to promote comprehensive and specific cooperation in transportation between Vietnam and Sweden

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to promote comprehensive and specific cooperation in transport fields between Vietnam and Sweden. Ms. Ann Linde also sincerely invites the Minister of Transport and Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Cong to visit Sweden in the shortest time.
