WHO BENEFITS THE MOST FROM INSTALLATION OF NOISE BARRIER?
People benefit first
Reduction of noise transmission from vehicles to residential areas, helping people get more deep sleep and have more comfortable lives, limitation health problems caused by noise pollution, etc. are the benefits that noise barriers bring right after installation.
Before installation of noise barriers, the Thang Long PMU has measured the noise level at some residential points along the Ring Road 3 of Hanoi city and showed that: at night time

Exposure to loud noise for long time can causes not only discomfort in daily life, but also health problem symptoms such as high blood pressure, sleep disturbances, and stress that may lead to cardiovascular disease, depression and anxiety disorders. According to a study in the journal International Environment of the Barcelona Institute for Global Health - ISG, excessive noise exposure indirectly causes about 3,600 premature deaths related to heart disease each year. Installing noise barriers will reduce or absorb sound, bring the noise level within the allowable levels to limit health problems and other consequences.
Besides that, roadside noise barriers have been shown to reduce the near-road air pollution concentration levels. Noise barriers force the pollution plumes coming from the road to move up and over the barrier, enhancing vertical dispersion of the plume, reducing air pollution spreading to surrounding areas.
In addition to preventing the spread of noise and air, the noise barriers are windproof and aid to driver’s concentration which could increase safety for people and other vehicles.
Changing the city’s appearance

Nowadays, noise-proof walls are made from materials such as polycarbonate, metal, etc. with modern designs are common used to replace noise barrier wall made from concrete, wood, etc. to bring aesthetics to the urban landscape, avoid blocking vision.
Many developed cities in the world not only use noise barriers to improve the quality of life, but also innovate the design to create modern urban landscapes.
Benefits for real estate owners
It seems unrelated, but it is the fact that the installation of noise barriers can affect the real estate prices in the surrounding area, especially for apartments. Buyers have a tend to not prefer apartments with elevated Ring Road view or the highway view due to the impact of noise. This may make owners more difficult to transact or must accept a lower selling price. Installing noise barriers may help them untangle this anxiety.
According to a research published in March 2022 by the group of authors Kwan Ok Lee, Alvan Hui Kiat Pang on the relationship between noise partitions and housing prices in Singapore, social housing prices within a radius of 300m of noise barrier areas increased by 0.6% immediately after the main coating announced the project of installing noise-proof partition and increased by 1.2% more when the project was completed.
It can be seen that people's expectations and satisfaction about the effectiveness of noise barriers can be very clearly reflected in real estate prices in the area.
Opportunities for Vietnamese manufacturers
In the context that infrastructure develops strongly and living standards improve day by day, it is certain that noise reduction solutions will gradually become one of the mandatory standards for transportation projects. This will be an opportunity for manufacturers to research and develop noise proof products and solutions to meet the needs of society.
In Vietnam, Vinh Hung is the pioneer company to design, manufacture and construct noise barriers for large scale projects. Currently, noise barriers manufactured by Vinh Hung have been presented in 7 projects in Vietnam and Asia such as Hanoi city's Ring Road No.2 and No.3, Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway, Hanoi - Hai Phong expressway, Ha Long - Van Don expressway, Bach Dang bridge (Hai Phong), the longest sea-crossing bridge in the Philippines Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway.
