After more than 3 years of active construction, Ha Long - Hai Phong Expressway and Bach Dang bridge project connecting Quang Ninh - Hai Phong - Hanoi will be officially opened on September 1st.

"With the cable laying capacity of Bach Dang bridge over 800 tons, with over 144 cable sizes ranging from 31 to 85 cables, this is a massive workload. The construction is difficult when VSL contractors had to face hard situations such as storms, severe weather. On August 24, the Country Council for Pre-acceptance Test of Construction Projects approved the Ha Long-Haiphong Expressway, including the project of connecting Ha Long City with Bach Dang Bridge and Bach Dang bridge project.
According to Deputy Minister of Construction Le Quang Hung - Vice Chairman of the Council for Pre-acceptance Test of Construction Works agreed with members of the Council on the quality and design of the works, that it has the qualified conditions to open Ha Long - Haiphong Expressway on 9/1/2018.
The Country’s Council for Pre-Acceptance Test of Construction Works requires the investors and contractors of the two projects to quickly complete the relevant legal procedures and soon complete auxiliary items such as lighting, traffic safety signs, fences to ensure the progress.
Completion of this highway, the distance between Halong and Hai Phong was shortened to 25 km, instead of about 70 km as before.
When the project is put into operation, it will contribute to the completion of the connection linking the northern dynamic economic region (Ha Noi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh) and shortening the distance from Ha Long to Hanoi from 180km compared to the previous distance of 130km, the car travel time reduced from 3.5 hours to 1.5 hours.
In addition, Haiphong - Ha Long expressway also contributes to reducing the vehicle traffic on the National Highway 10 and National Highway 18A.
