Mai Son Expressway - National Highway 45 accelerated construction progress in the pandemic situation

Mr. Luong Van Long, Project Executive Director (Thang Long Project Management Board) said, after nearly 11 months of construction implementation since the first bidding package of this project was organized to start construction on September 30, 2020, now the whole project is implementing 66 construction stitches. In which, there are 29 roads, 33 bridges, structures, and 4 tunnels, with an output value of more than VND 1,452 billion (accounting for 21.2% of the contract value).

The great worksite with 5 construction and installation packages from 10-XL to 14-XL is still under construction. Machinery, equipment, and human resources operate day and night.

In package 10-XL (Km274 +111.86 - Km 289+500) with a total length of more than 14km, contractors are currently implementing 16 construction projects, including 5 road construction stitches, 7 bridge construction stitches, 2 stitches types of structural construction, and 2 construction for Tam Diep tunnel.

In particular, the highlight of the 10-XL package is Tam Diep's tunnel construction through rocky mountains with 245m long. Two units of Tam Diep tunnel have been excavated by contractors since mid-July 2021 after just over 4 months of organizing and deploying. Besides, also at the Mai Son expressway - National Highway 45 project, Vinh Hung signed a contract to supply bridge bearings and expansion joints manufactured by the VHIP factory. VHIP prestressed cable products are also used in package 13-XL to serve the construction work of this project.

Every construction stage of contractors is closely monitored by staff of Thang Long PMU, consultants, and supervisors.

Mr. Luong Van Long said, in order to both prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, and ensure the construction progress, The Project management Board regularly urges and reminds all staff of the Executive Board and contractors to raise awareness and fully implement measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic under the direction of the Government. Currently, Mai Son expressway - National Highway 45 project has no cases infected with Covid-19, all contractors strictly comply with regulations on pandemic prevention such as wearing masks, disinfecting, etc.

Mai Son expressway - National Highway 45 project with 63.37km long, passes through two provinces Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa. The complete phrase is built with 6 lanes, 32.25m roadbed, design speed of 120km/h; the total investment of this project is 12,111 billion VND, uses state budget capital.
