Located in a special position on the historical Bach Dang Giang River, which has been associated with the national heroes Ngo Quyen, Le Hoan, Tran Hung Dao ... with glorious victories in the journey of fighting against foreign invaders. Bach Dang Bridge is a large Work with a great deal of records.

This is a stayed cable bridge with a length of 5.4 km crossing the T-junction of Bach Dang and Cam River which is designed, built and inspected by Viet Nam. Construction time is also the shortest ever compared to the same scale with only within 38 months of construction since the first day of drilling.

The long stayed cable of the main bridge is 700m with 4 spans of cable and diagram structure(110+2x240+110m), the main span crossing the river is 240m long and this is one of the bridges having the biggest aperture up to now. Especially, Bach Dang is built with a nice and modern architecture. The 03 stayed towers of H-shape symbolizes peace and prosperity, showing the close connection between the three key economic centers in the North, namely Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh, appearing on the windy sky and sparkling on Bach Dang river.

In the context of limited funding from State for transport projects, the completed Bach Dang bridge has been put into operation as a living proof in the creative implementation of the Party and Government resolutions. It is the drastic, active, positive, mobilized spirit and efficient usage of all capital sources to quickly develop transport infrastructure, well carry out transport tasks in Socio-economic development, meeting the requirements of leading our country to become an industrialized country in the modern direction. At the same time, the completion of the Bach Dang Bridge Project has marked a tremendous leap forward in the management of the operator in the construction organization as an investor and a professional contractor.

The Bach Dang Bridge project after put into operation, will shorten the distance from Hanoi to Quang Ninh from 180km to 130km by expressway and shorten from 3.5 hours to 1,5 hours by car. This work has made a more significant contribution to the completion of the important traffic artery, completing the highway linking the economic triangle of Quang Ninh - Hai Phong - Hanoi, completing the coastal expressway of the North and the Red River delta connected from Ha Noi capital to Mong Cai border gate after Ha Long - Van Don and Van Don - Mong Cai projects get completed.
