VINH HUNG ACCELERATES THE CONSTRUCTION AND SUPPLY OF PRODUCTS FOR DIEN CHAU - BAI VOT EXPRESSWAY

Dien Chau - Bai Vot, a component project of the North-South expressway, with a total length of 49.3km, is implemented under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model with a total investment of 11,157 billion VND. To meet the schedule, choosing contractors that can provide quality materials is an important issue.

At the expressway, Vinh Hung is one of the providers supplying bridge bearings, expansion joints, cable systems, prestressed anchorage systems, and waterproofing for the Than Vu tunnel.

Regarding bridge bearings, Vinh Hung supplies nearly 2,000 pcs, including pot bearings and elastomeric bearings. All products are manufactured at Vinh Hung IP factory and controlled quality strictly.

VHB pot bearings are designed and manufactured to meet the project's technical documents and comply with TCVN 12068:2014 and AASHTO LRFD standards of the United States. The products meet the requirements of load capacity, displacement, and rotation angles, and are designed to be convenient for installation and maintenance during exploitation.

VSR steel-reinforced elastomeric bearings are provided for the expressway to meet technical documents, manufactured according to standards TCVN 10308:2014 and AASHTO M 251-06 (2016).

Besides, Vinh Hung also provided nearly 600 meters of finger expansion joints, more than 100 tons of pre-tensioned cables, and pre-tensioned anchors for the project.

Vinh Hung provided materials and implemented waterproofing construction for Than Vu tunnel

In particular, with experience in tunnel waterproofing for mountain tunnels, urban tunnels, and metros, Vinh Hung is trusted to be chosen as the unit implementing waterproofing for the Than Vu tunnel which has complex geology and strongly weathered rocks.

Than Vu Tunnel is one of the most difficult and complex mountain tunnels on the North-South expressway. It is also a project that Vinh Hung implemented the largest load works of waterproofing ever: 2.3 km (about 65,000 m2) on both the left and right branches.

Waterproofing aimed to prevent the intrusion of groundwater into the tunnel lining structure, ensure the safety of electrical equipment and traffic control devices, and increase the lifespan of the project. Tunnel waterproofing is installed between the shotcrete layer and the tunnel lining concrete, consisting of two layers: The outer layer is a non-woven geotextile, and the inner layer is a waterproofing membrane.

The Ministry of Transport requires that the first 30km of the Dien Chau - Bai Vot going back to Vinh be opened to traffic and completed by April 30. The remaining 19km must be completed and inaugurated by June 2024.

To keep up with the schedule, Vinh Hung and other contractors have focused on ultimate human resources, machinery, and equipment, dividing "3 shifts, 4 crews" to work day and night to complete the items.

Up to now, Vinh Hung has completed waterproofing the entire right branch of the tunnel with a length of more than 1.1 km (34,000 m2), meeting the requirement to open to traffic on April 30 as requested by the Ministry of Transport.

For the left branch, Vinh Hung has completed nearly 600 length meters (16,000 m2) and is implementing construction of the remaining 600 length meters.

According to statistics collected by Transport Magazine from investors and contractors, Vinh Hung Trading, Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company (Vinh Hung JSC) is the largest supplier of bridge bearings, expansion joints, noise barriers, etc. for the North - South expressway phase 1 (2017 - 2020) and the North - South expressway phase 2 (2021 - 2025) which are being under construction.
