Accelerate the construction of waterproofing system for An Phu Intersection project, Ho Chi Minh City

An Phu Intersection is located at the starting point of the Ho Chi Minh city - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and at the ending point of Luong Dinh Cua street, crossing with Mai Chi Tho street (East-West boulevard). This project is expected to ease traffic congestion in the area, which is considered as a "traffic black spot" at the eastern gateway of Ho Chi Minh city and for the route to Cat Lai port (Dong Van Cong street). After completion, this intersection will connect the Ho Chi Minh city - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway with Mai Chi Tho boulevard, as well as the city's main routes; solve the traffic congestion around the intersection area at the eastern gateway, especially when the Long Thanh International Airport is completed and put into operation.

An Phu Intersection broke ground at the end of 2022, featuring one of the most modern designs in Ho Chi Minh city.

The Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority of Ho Chi Minh City (TCIP) is the main contractor of the project. Vinh Hung takes on the role of a sub-contractor, responsible for implementing the entire waterproofing system for the HC1-01 tunnel at the An Phu Intersection, starting from November 2023.

The waterproofing work at the An Phu Tunnel is critically important, as it protects the structure from water infiltration into the base slab, walls and tunnel roof. Thereby increasing the lifespan of the infrastructure and ensuring its aesthetics.

Vinh Hung takes on the role of a sub-contractor, responsible for implementing the entire waterproofing system for the HC1-01 tunnel

The structure of the waterproofing layer includes a 1.7 mm TPO waterproof membrane wrapped around the base slab, walls and tunnel roof, interspersed with waterstops, expanding rubber, joints sealants, and reinforcement sheets at key vulnerable points such as expansion joints and construction joints, creating a completely watertight system to prevent groundwater infiltration.

Having the capabilities and in-depth experience in implementing urban tunnel waterproofing work in Hanoi - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh city, Vinh Hung is working tirelessly and operating around the model of "4 teams - 3 shifts" to complete the waterproofing construction work on schedule for HC1-01 tunnel at An Phu intersection by December 2024 and hand over the tunnel to the main contractor for further work, including road connections, lighting, railings, and asphalt paving.
