The Hanoi Urban Railway Cat Linh – Ha Dong Line was approved by the Prime Minister under the Hanoi Transport Development Master Plan to 2020 on July 9, 2008.

Construction commenced in October 2011, with a total investment of USD 868.04 million, equivalent to VND 18.0015 trillion.

The line was designed as a double-track railway with a gauge of 1,435 mm. The main alignment is 13.05 km long and includes 12 stations. The system operates 13 trainsets with a maximum design speed of 80 km/h and a commercial operating speed of 35 km/h. End-to-end travel time is approximately 23.63 minutes.

After outperforming numerous domestic and international competitors, Vinh Hung was selected to supply bridge bearings, expansion joints, prestressing concrete cables, and prestressing anchors for installation on the project.
