On the afternoon of March 14, leaders of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, together with the My Thuan Project Management Board, supervision consultants, and contractors, held a launching ceremony for the emulation campaign “45 Days and Nights to Accelerate the Construction of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Investment Project” connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces. The initiative aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).

The event took place in a spirited atmosphere as the country looks forward to the upcoming national milestone. The project is now entering its critical phase, with the following major targets:

  • April 30, 2025: Completion and connection of the main cable-stayed span of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge.
  • June 30, 2025: Completion of all five bridges on the route (Xoai Hot Bridge, My Tho Bridge, Tam Son Bridge, Ba Lai Bridge, Rach Mieu 2 Main Bridge, and Song Ma Bridge), along with basic completion of the approach roads.
  • September 2, 2025: Target date for full project completion.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project is a critical infrastructure initiative that plays a vital role in enhancing connectivity between Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, while also alleviating traffic pressure on the existing Rach Mieu Bridge. The emulation campaign reflects the strong commitment of all participating units and serves as a motivational boost for engineers and construction workers striving to hit key milestones.

According to Dong Khoi Newspaper - the official publication of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee - the project currently has a total executed contract value of VND 2,670.14 billion, reaching 80.84% completion, exceeding the planned schedule by more than 4%. Notably, the main span of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is ahead of schedule by over 15%.
