FEBA AND BEJ EXPANSION JOINTS - EFFECTIVE FOR BRIDGE CONSTRUCTIONS
![]() |
Chairman of Vinh Hung JSC Tran Duc Tien said that the Feba expansion joint is designed to meet all shrinkage occurring during installation, with displacement up to 50mm, it is perfectly suited to use for simple span structures. A Feba expansion joint is an asphaltic plug expansion joint that is suitable for small and medium displacement expansion joints on road bridges. All asphaltic plug expansion joints are recognized to suit maximum design displacements up to 50mm horizontally and + 1.5mm vertically. Feba joint is designed for the full depth of the surface and is installed after finishing the running and curbing. The width of the joint is chosen depending on the displacement factor of the deck and the nature of the traffic on the structure. Materials in the liquid state are mixed at high temperatures up to 180°C.
Bej expansion joint according to the British classification is a plastic joint with metal sliding rails. Mechanical joints are installed on the surface and anchored to the deck thanks to advanced technology - Britflex adhesive, rapid maintenance, and the newly installed slot allows traffic within 2 hours, used for new and maintenance projects.
