INAUGURATION OF THE ROAD CONNECTING NATIONAL HIGHWAY 19 – BECAMEX VSIP INDUSTRIAL PARK – QUY NHON PORT
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung speaks at the inauguration ceremony
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that the project not only marks the completion of a modern transport route but also serves as a powerful symbol of Binh Dinh’s 50-year journey of growth and development following liberation.
Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, noted that the new route spans approximately 19.5 km, designed according to Grade III plain road standards, with two lanes for motor vehicles and two lanes for rudimentary vehicles. The route passes through An Nhon Town, Tay Son District, and Van Canh District. Along the way, it features seven prestressed reinforced concrete bridges, as well as a modern, synchronized system of drainage, traffic safety, and lighting infrastructure.
The new road reduces travel distance from the intersection of National Highway 19 (Km27+250) and DT.638 (Km120+825) in Nhon Tan Commune, An Nhon Town to the center of the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban and Service Park, shortening it from 31.5 km to 16.5 km.
Beyond shortening travel time, the route plays a strategic role in enhancing transport infrastructure and facilitating trade between Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh and the Central Highlands provinces as well as Quy Nhon Port. It also contributes to ensuring security and defense in the province’s western localities.
At the project, Vinh Hung implemented erosion control solutions using a 3-axis polymer double-twisted steel mesh system, and concurrently deployed a slope reinforcement and rockfall prevention system using high-strength steel mesh and anchoring technology. Construction began in March 2024. As of now, the main package of works has been completed, while remaining supplementary items are being accelerated, with final completion expected by June 2025.
