Completion of Construction and Repair of Ho Bridge and Five Other Bridges Along National Highway 38
National Highway 38 spans nearly 90 km and passes through four provinces: Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, and Ha Nam. The six bridges included in the repair project are: Ho Bridge (Km12+963), Ho Chuong Bridge (Km14+143), Dong Coi Bridge (Km16+286), Do Bridge (Km22+980), Guot Bridge (Km24+391), Doc Bridge (Km28+430). After prolonged use, many of these bridges, particularly Doc Bridge, had severely deteriorated. Common issues included surface cracking, rutting, damaged expansion joints, peeling pavement, and potholes. These conditions significantly hindered transportation and goods movement along National Highway 38 and posed a serious threat to traffic safety.
The timely repair of Ho Bridge and the five others was essential to ensure road user safety, improve traffic flow and smoothness, extend the service life of the infrastructure, support socio-economic development in the region.
As the lead contractor, Vinh Hung carried out a range of tasks, including rust removal and repainting of the steel truss structure and the bridge railing system at Ho Bridge and at the remaining five bridges, repair and replacement of Feba expansion joints, asphalt pavement milling, and overall maintenance—all while ensuring continuous and safe traffic flow throughout the construction period.
Vinh Hung began the project in November 2024 and completed repairs for all six bridges on April 30, 2025, meeting the planned schedule.
