Phuoc An Bridge is a mixed girder-cable (extradosed) bridge, recognized as one of the longest bridges in Vietnam and featuring the largest main span in Southeast Asia, with a distance of 250 meters between the two main spans. In this project, Vinh Hung is the designated contractor responsible for supplying and constructing the cable-stayed system.

Phuoc An Bridge project is currently progressing three months ahead of schedule

The bridge serves as a key transportation link between Phu My Town (Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province) and Nhon Trach District (Dong Nai Province), with a total length of 4.3 km, including 3.5 km of main bridge, 47 meters of approach road, and 617 meters of connecting road to the port. The project is funded by Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province with a total investment of approximately 4,900 billion VND, and construction began in June 2023.

At present, the main contractor has completed section K0 at pier T38. At pier T39, concrete preparation is underway for section K0, out of a total of 32 girder segments. Additionally, the bridge tower at this site has completed section K4 out of a total of 15 segments.

According to the construction schedule, on March 28, 2025, Vinh Hung will begin installing the cable-stayed anchorage saddle system for the T6 tower segment at pillar T38. Subsequently, on April 3, 2025, installation of the same system will be carried out at pillar T39.

Vinh Hung is expected to complete the cable tensioning and finalize the entire cable-stayed system by June 30, 2026.

The team of engineers and workers at Vinh Hung are working tirelessly under the spirit of "overcoming sun and rain," operating in three shifts with the goal of delivering the project on schedule, safely, and efficiently.

After 21 months of construction, the project is currently ahead of schedule. While the initial target for completion was June 2027, current progress suggests a three month earlier handover date.

To ensure progress and quality, the contractors have mobilized approximately 350 engineers and workers, supported by specialized equipment, including super-heavy cranes and tower cranes operating continuously at the site.

Once completed, Phuoc An Bridge will significantly reduce travel time between Ba Ria – Vung Tau and Phuoc An Port (Dong Nai), while also enhancing connectivity to Eastern, Western, and Central Highlands provinces, as well as key economic centers - especially given the current traffic pressure on National Highway 51.

Post-completion, vehicles from industrial parks in Ba Ria – Vung Tau and container ports such as Cai Mep – Thi Vai will be able to use the bridge to access the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh Expressway, then continue either westward via the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway, or to the national highway via the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway.

The Phuoc An Bridge will play a vital role in unlocking the full potential of the deep-water port such as Cai Mep – Thi Vai, as well as supporting the development of the Cai Mep Ha logistics service center in the near future.
