Accelerating the implementation of rockfall barrier solution under the Northern mountain provinces transportation connectivity project
In 2023, Vinh Hung completed the construction of the reinforced soil walls using the MSE wall with anchored gabion baskets. According to the project plan, the solution to reinforce the talus slope using the combination of a high-strength steel mesh and shear connectors along Lai Chau connection route is scheduled to be completed by June 2024.
Vinh Hung's engineers and workers are working tirelessly, regardless of days and nights, operating with the model of "4 teams - 3 shifts", determined to ensure the completion time of the project.
Advantages of the solution
The solution of combining high-strength steel mesh and shear connectors for rockfall barrier is being implemented by Vinh Hung in a series of key projects nationwide, with its superiority proven:
- It fully solves the problem of groundwater pressure as the mesh structure, while not blocking the slope, ensures water drainage flow.
- It is a safe, earthquake-resistant and long-lasting solution. The rockfall barrier solutions are certificated with European standards for material durability, from which the lifespan of the solution - when constructed accurately - can be anticipated to exceed 50 years depending on the level of environmental corrosion at the installation area.
- The steel mesh system ensures aesthetics and environmental compatibility, and allows vegetation to regrow normally on the slope..
- The installation process is simple, cost-effective in terms of materials and time.
- The implementation of the solution, which keeps the current state of the slope and limits the impact of the construction process, can simultaneously be done when the road is being used.
- Even when a gabion basket falls out of the slope, the maintenance is still simple and quick as it only requires the replacement of the damaged mesh.
