Vinh Hung JSC is one of the pioneering enterprises building Vietnamese national brand of transportation mechanical equipment and exporting products to countries in the region. Since its establishment, Vinh Hung has provided types of bridge bearings (Elastomeric bearings, Pot bearings, etc.) for nearly 200 projects of urban railways, expressways, civil road and bridge constructions in Vietnam. Therefore, Vinh Hung has improved the localization rate of steel structural products in the transport industry, and its export success spans across region.

 

Recently, Vinh Hung has become the first Vietnamese enterprise to manufacture and export Pot bearings which are designed and manufactured according to American AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications with a maximum load capacity of up to 34,500kN and a weight of more than 3.5 tons for the Malolos-Clark Railway Project in the Philippines. This is a type of high-load bridge bearing that is commonly used in large-scale road and bridge constructions and requires strict standards on technical capability, machinery as well as workmanship

 

To optimize product designs in compliance with the standards of the Malolos-Clark Railway project and the contractor's requirements, Vinh Hung's engineering team has worked actively and closely with the contractor's engineers to check specifications, follow SPEC of the project and discuss technical drawings.

After completing the final drawings, Vinh Hung's production engineers will break down the drawings for estimating quantities of materials to build and deploy the production plan. This entire production process, from machining of workpieces, welding of components, blast cleaning, surface spraying/coating to assembling of components, is carried out by highly qualified and skilled employees. At the same time, the whole process is meticulously supervised by Vinh Hung's quality control (QC) engineers to minimize mistakes in the manufacturing process.

In addition, to support contractors in monitoring and supervision of each stage of manufacturing and be assured of product quality, Vinh Hung and the contractor have coordinately worked with the 3rd independent unit - Bureau Veritas. Representatives of Bureau Veritas have implemented testing, inspection, and certification of quality in each stage of manufacturing on behalf of the contractor.

In the stage of checking raw materials, Bureau Veritas will check all documents proving the origin and quality of materials such as CO, CQ, and sign in all steel billet, rubber, copper ring or PTFE, etc., to confirm the quality before putting them into production.

During fabrication, dimensions and quality indicators of each product component are checked by standard equipment to ensure that they are within allowable tolerances. Product’s components are only put into the next step after being certified quality by the independent monitoring unit – Bureau Veritas.

Testing bridge bearings is an important step to ensure the workability and longevity of bridge construction. Vinh Hung bridge bearings will be tested 20 criteria by specialized testing equipment in an independent laboratory before being installed on the project. The testing process applied AASHTO LRFD standards of which there are some testing criteria such as Long-term deterioration test 1000 cycles, accelerated aging test of rubber, proof load test, bearing horizontal and vertical force vapacity (long term and short term), coefficient of friction.

In the shipment stage, Vinh Hung's pot bearings will be delivered to the customer with Installation Manual, Construction Drawings, and Recommendations for contractors. During the product installation process, Vinh Hung engineer will come to the Philippines to support the contractor and offer solutions to handle arising problems right on the construction site.
