CHARITY PROGRAM AT VIETNAM NATIONAL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

07/15/2017, EMOTIONAL DAY AT NATIONAL CHILDREN HOSPITAL

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), each year in Vietnam, there are approximately 8,000-10,000 babies born with congenital heart disease, 60% of them are poor households who cannot afford the treatment. Since 2008, the program "Heart for you" was born, opened hope for thousands of children and families. After 7 years of implementation, the program raised 90 billion VND, supporting successful surgery for about 2,700 children. But this is only a little number compared to the total number of about 44,600 children under the age of 6 who are still carrying this disease and their families cannot afford to take the child for treatment because of poverty. It is a problem for the whole society.

On July 15, 2017, Vinh Hung Company held a meaningful charity activity at the Children's Cardiology Department - National Children's Hospital. Joining with the charity team this time was our company's Chairman, Mr. Tran Duc Tien, who was very touched by the fatal disease plight of all children and their family's difficulties. He hopes that with Vinh Hung's help, the surgeries will go smoothly to bring them health, joy, and laughter and help them integrate into society like their peers.

Vinh Hung knew them through the introduction of the staff at the Children's Cardiology Department. Baby Song Manh Senh was born in 2016, her parents are Hmong ethnic people, they live on swidden fields in Son La, and Pham Thi Huong was born in 2005 in a poor farming family in Hai Duong, both of them have congenital heart disease and their families had not taken them to surgery because they "have no money" and "cannot borrow" from anyone. Sympathizing with the children's plight, wishing to help the skipped a beat hearts return to normal life, our company supported the surgery costs for two kids. On the day our Company's charity team visited them, representatives of the Board of Directors of National Children's Hospital and staff of Children's Cardiology Department welcomed us extremely cordial and attentive. Each person present at the meeting had different moods but everyone was touched by the plight of these innocent children, touched by their hearts for each other, choked up when we think about their smiles and bright futures ahead.

There is still much unfortunate life, Vinh Hung will definitely try harder, for the future of Vinh Hung family and for many other small families like Senh, Huong...
