The project “”Repair of the new Cau Lau Bridge at Km953+340, National Highway 1, Quang Nam Province”” is invested by the Regional Road Administration III under the Vietnam Road Administration. In this project, Vinh Hung served as the bridge repair construction contractor, with key items including constructing post-tensioning PC cable anchor blocks with reinforcement and concrete, tensioning PC cables, and executing several other items.

The new Cau Lau Bridge spans the Thu Bon River, located on National Highway 1 – the vital traffic spine connecting Dien Ban Town and Duy Xuyen District in Quang Nam Province, and serves as one of the main routes for North – South traffic. Put into operation in 2005, the bridge handles a heavy volume of vehicles, including high-speed and heavy-duty trucks.

The bridge was designed under AASHTO 1996 standards with an HS20-44 load capacity – lower than Vietnam’s current HL93 design load standard and subsequent AASHTO LRFD criteria. After over 20 years of service, the bridge structure developed damages affecting structural integrity and traffic safety. Leaving it unrepaired would rapidly shorten the infrastructure life cycle and pose severe traffic safety hazards.

Vinh Hung commenced the repair construction for Cau Lau Bridge on November 8, 2024 and completed it on April 6, 2025.
