In which, the main ports supporting commercial activities include: Hai Phong port, Cai Lan port. These two ports have received JICA loan support for rehabilitation and construction of expansion works. In addition, these two ports also have plans to develop and expand in the future, the container clearance at the combined port will remain at 40 million tons. On the other hand, according to statistics, the demand for containerized goods in northern Vietnam will reach 42 million tons in 2015 and will continue to increase to 59 million tons by 2020 at a growth rate corresponding to the economic growth rate.
