Bac Ninh – the land of masterpieces – has produced many heroes and talents throughout history.\u00a0This place is also famous for many historical landscapes such as Do Temple, Phat Tich Pagoda, Dau Pagoda, But Thap Pagoda…<\/p>\n

The first stop of our group was Phat Tich Pagoda (Van Phuc Tu). Located on Lan Kha mountain in Phat Tich commune, Tien Du district, it is one of the temples with a long history and full of architecture of the Ly dynasty.\u00a0The pagoda owns a stone Buddha statue on a lotus, which is one of the largest in Vietnam.\u00a0It was visited by many kings and queens, who spent money for it to be repaired and newly built such as King Ly Thanh Tong, Nguyen Phi \u1ef6 Lan, Tran Nhan Tong, Tran Nghe Tong, Le Hy Tong, Le Hien Tong.\u00a0In 1959, the pagoda was rebuilt then recognized as a historical and cultural relic.<\/p>\n

Phat Tich pagoda was opened on the 4th day of the Lunar New Year. At the beginning of the year, many people from everywhere came here for the scenery as well as the Buddha ceremony at the main hall, then climbed the mountain to see A Di Da statue on the top of Lan Kha.\u00a0The pagoda was also associated with many legends such as the story of Tu Thuc who met Giang Huong in the Mau Don festival.\u00a0Coming here, you can also admire the precious Ly dynasty sculpture with 10 pure Vietnamese 10-meter-animal statues: elephants, rhinos, horses, buffalos, etc (two each).<\/p>\n

Our next destination was Do Temple, the most sacred temple in Kinh Bac.<\/p>\n

Do Temple is also known as Co Phap Dien, Ly Bat De Temple, located in Thuong hamlet of Dinh Bang ward, Tu Son town, Bac Ninh province. It is a historical relic, with architecture in the style of an ancient palace.\u00a0The temple was built in the Ly dynasty on Thien Duc district (ie, Co Phap Dien in Dinh Bang), which was chosen by Ly Cong Uan.\u00a0Later, when the Ly kings died one after another, they were buried and worshiped here, so it was called Ly Bat De Temple.\u00a0During the war against French colonialists, Do Temple was occupied and completely destroyed by the enemy.\u00a0In 1989, after the country was completely independent, on the 980th anniversary of Ly Thai To starting the Ly Dynasty, on the basis of architectural traces and the remaining old documents, Dinh Bang people together contributed money to restore Do Temple to educate the traditional love of the homeland and country for next generations.<\/p>\n

The scenery of the temple becomes more beautiful with the presence of Ban Nguyet and Thuy Dinh lake.\u00a0It is known that Ban Nguyet Lake is a vestige of Tieu Tuong River, on which in the past, King Ly Thanh Tong used to ride the dragon boat to the pagoda on Phat Tich mountain, and the river also represents the love story of Truong Chi and My Nuong.<\/p>\n

Coming to Do Temple, visitors not only have the opportunity to learn about unique historical sites but also immerse themselves in the charming landscape and quiet space.<\/p>\n

With historical and cultural values, in 2014, historical relics of the tombs and temples of Ly kings were recognized by the Prime Minister as a special National Monument.<\/p>\n

Although there are not many beautiful natural landscapes, the Kinh Bac region is proud of the ancient cultural and historical relics, temples, and folk songs that are romantic, uniquely beautiful, valued, making an impression in the hearts of visitors.<\/p>\n

On March 19, 2016, our company organized a spring tour on the occasion of Binh Than lunar new year. We departed from Hanoi to Kinh Bac, traveled on National Highway 1A.
