The 3-storey intersection project of Southern Binh bridge is the first intersection design as 6- junctions with 3 storeys, including: underground, surface and overpass. The basement connects from Bach Dang street through the railway to Hong Bang road. The surface layer is upgraded to the present situation and the viaduct connects from Binh bridge to Hong Bang road to Re river (An Duong District)
The tunnel section from Bach Dang Street to Hong Bang Street under the railway has a 190m-long tunnel section, a 140m-long opening at two ends of a tunnel, a 40m-long wall of reinforced concrete walls. Tunnel cross section is 15m wide, in which the road section is 11.5m, the service road has 2 lanes, and 0.75m wide for each.
The work is considered as a solution to traffic congestion, helping to improve railway safety and maximize the potential of Binh bridge. This is a necessary step to complete the transport system in Hai Phong city as planned.
