The route of 100 year permanent bridge construction includes the bridges of Binh Loi, Rach Lang and Go Dua. Total investment cost includes construction cost being 186 million USD (investors' capital) and land clearance cost being 6,783 billion VND (budget of HCM City). Mr Nguyen Van Tam, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transportation, said the opening of the Pham Van Dong road would open the northeastern gateway of Saigon from Truong Son road to Linh Xuan intersection (Thu Duc district) to solve a series of traffic problems in the city.
This new route facilitates people from Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces to go to Tan Son Nhat Airport more quickly. After the opening, the traffic pressure on the Truong Son road would decrease. Traffic jams and congestions at the gateway of Tan Son Nhat airport would also reduce.
